Question by Another Mom of 2: Are todays news centers hiring journalists with marketing degrees, rather than degrees in journalism?
Twenty years ago, journalism was considered an honorable profession. Journalism classes and schools emphasized reporting only the facts, and leaving the reporter’s opinions out of the story. Now, it doesn’t take much scrutiny to understand that media outlets are inundating us, the public, with opinions and, quite frankly, media hype.
So where are these reporters coming from? And whose opinions are they feeding us: their own, or the news center for which they work?
(And yes, I’m venting … I’ll admit it.)

It has been more than 20 years since journalism was a respected profession.
During the sixties the mentality of the journalist changed; they went from wanting to report to wanting to change the world.
The past 20 years that you have noticed is these people being in charge.
They have no interest in getting to the truth only getting their agenda through.
Talk radio and FOX are the reaction to this phenomenon, the balance if you will, good or bad.
